Candle Care and Safety Guide

Proper candle care ensures the safest experience and helps you get the best performance, fragrance throw, and burn time from your Seven + Ember coconut soy candles.

First Burn (Memory Burn Rule)

On the first burn, allow the wax to melt fully to the edges of the jar.

This creates an even “wax memory” and helps prevent tunnelling, ensuring your candle burns evenly for its full life.

Wick Care

• Trim wick to 5mm before every burn
• This reduces soot, smoke, and uneven flames
• Helps maintain a clean, stable burn

Burn Time Guidelines

• Burn your candle for 3–4 hours at a time
• Do not burn for more than 4 hours continuously
• This prevents overheating and extends candle life

Safety Precautions

For your safety, always:

• Never leave a burning candle unattended
• Keep candles away from children and pets
• Extinguish candles before sleeping or leaving a room or building
• Do not move the candle while wax is liquified (jar may be hot)
• Always place on a stable, heat-resistant surface
• Keep away from flammable materials such as curtains, fabric, or paper
• Avoid placing near open windows or draughts, which can cause flickering and uneven burning

End of Candle Life

• Stop burning when 10mm of wax remains
• Do not relight the candle once it reaches this level
• This prevents overheating the glass container

Storage and Care

• Keep candles out of direct sunlight
• Avoid UV exposure to prevent wax discolouration or yellowing
• Store in a cool, dry place for best fragrance quality

Returns

We want you to love your Seven + Ember purchase. If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the item, and we'll arrange a replacement or refund where appropriate.

Due to the nature of our handcrafted products, we cannot accept returns or exchanges for change of mind.
